Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH (Maybach) was a German engine manufacturer that started to develop and produce high end automobiles. Maybach was founded in 1909 and produced vehicles from 1921 to the beginning of World War II in 1940.
Daimler-Benz acquired Maybach, which were still producing commercial grade engines, in 1960. The Maybach automobile brand was reintroduced to the market in 1997, with its first release to customers in 2002. Maybach was an ultra high end competitor to the two British brands, Bentley and Rolls Royce, with prices for the Maybach's ranging from roughly $350,000 for the Maybach 57 to north of $1,000,000 for the Maybach Landaulet when it was introduced.

疯狂家族一家欢Due to losses well above 1 billion dollars for the Maybach brand, Maybach produced the last vehicle in late 2012 after assembling in the region of 3,000 cars from the restart in 2002.
The Maybach brand is being reintroduced as a top-of-the-line sub-brand to the Mercedes Benz S-Class with the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 for the Model Year (MY) 2016 in April of 2015.
